Meet Our Family

Steve Oldham

Steve and his wife Joan started the Chimney Swifts in 1979.

Working hard for 40 years, Steve perfected the art of chimney cleaning with the upmost attention to detail and cleanliness.

Having grown up in town, it wasn’t long before The Chimney Swifts had developed a customer base in the thousands.

“I am proud of our company and of our reputation. We have always tried to be fair and honest with customers, and maintain the highest standard of professionalism and workmanship, in this very important safety service. I truly appreciate your business.”

Before recently deciding to retire to South Carolina, Steve made sure to instill the importance of professionalism and attention to detail in the next generation of Chimney Swifts. He has passed the brushes down to a team capable of carrying on the Chimney Swift traditions for years to come.

Jon Nelson

Jon, Steve’s son-in-law, joined the team over 10 years ago. Quickly picking up the trade, these two create a dynamic duo of both experience and skill.

As an Immaculate High School graduate, Jon then went on to get a Bachelors degree from Western Connecticut State University in Small Business and Entrepreneurial Management.

Since doing business with Steve, Jon has expanded the company into the dryer vent cleaning industry and now The Chimney Swifts & Dryer Vent Cleaning proudly serves all of Fairfield County.

In a review of his experience with Jon,

satisfied customer Ryan writes: "Jon was incredibly professional, knowledgeable and willing to educate my on my chimney system. I would recommend them over anyone!"

Nick Sone

Nick, Jon and Nikki's brother-in-law, joined the team over 2 years ago. He apprenticed with Jon for four months and quickly proved his skill and understanding of the trade.

Nick went to Conard High School in West Hartford and then went on to study at Eastern Connecticut State University.

Since his apprenticeship with Jon, Nick has worked hard proving he is worthy of the lead technician role.

Chimney Swifts customer John G. says: "Your man showed up right on time. He was extremely neat, did the job great, he’s a keeper! As long as I have a wood stove you got the job."

We are happy to have Nick as part of the Chimney Swifts Team!

Before joining the team, Nikki was an executive administrative assistant in the insurance industry for 15 years and has held many roles in customer service.

She's the voice you'll hear when you call the schedule your next appointment!
